The Burrow Coffee House | The Entrance

Wherever our foolish ventures take us, the inner foodie inside must search out the best restaurants/cafe/bar to visit. Thankfully we live in a day and age where all the information you need is at your fingertips. We found that The Burrow Coffee House was quite popular among the locals in The Entrance, NSW. We decided to give it a go and visited for brunch! They are located ideally on the main esplanade, meaning it is only a short stroll away from the beach and other main attractions in the area. We regret not ordering coffee, we were tempted to with the aroma of the roasted coffee beans but elected not to.

The Gathering
The vegetarian and most probably one of the healthier options on the menu was "The Gathering", a panko crumbed feta square on top of a bed of roquette with a lemon mushroom and zucchini medley, you then find a slightly overdone poached egg, with avocado and a roast capsicum house made pesto sauce. While it doesn't look like much, it was full of flavour. The flavours of the roast capsicum were prominent in this dish. So if you are not a big fan of capsicum, this may not be the dish for you!

The Burrow Burger
This was my third burger in 24 hours, I maintain a strict diet of anything fatty, tastes good and looks good to ensure a healthy lifestyle... HA! One day I will regret my unhealthy eating habits, but that is a future problem. This burger was STACKED with salted caramel haloumi, bacon, egg, avocado and roquette, on a brioche bun. It was the breakfast burger of all breakfast burgers, and for the pure reason that it had salted caramel haloumi. This thing was damn tasty, even my eyes agree!

This was a nice little find. I am still crazing another one of those burgers now. Might have to work out myself how to make salted caramel haloumi... or drive another 2 hours to taste it again.
