Premium Organic Tea by Ovvio | Paddington

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a herbal tea blending and tea ceremony workshop held by Ovvio at The Loft thanks to Jennifer from Sweet and Yummie. The amount of knowledge shared and discovered was vast and eye opening and we can't wait to share them with you.

The Ovvio organic tea and tonic store is located in Paddington and you can seek advice from a Naturopath to identify natural herbal remedies for the many issues that we are plagued by daily. Whether it is stress, sickness or even just wanting to be healthy, there is most likely a tea blend for that! It's like walking into a Chinese herbal medicine place but instead of being prescribed with medicine, you are recommended a herbal tea blend!

Herbs, spices and tea may be given in the form of teas, tinctures, tables, ointments, steam inhalations, poultices, baths or in food. Herbals tinctures are herbs or spices macerated and steeped, then drained and pressed. Herbal tablets are finely ground, dried parts compressed to form a tablet. Herbal ointments can be applied to the skin i.e. Witchhazel. Steam inhalations are used to treat the supper respiratory tract, nose and sinuses i.e. peppermint, and Poultices are used over the skin to treat aching, inflamed or painful part of the body. I had no tea could be used in so many different ways! Lets not forget that herbs and spices can also be used for external and internal nourishment for cosmetic purposes.

Above is the Herbal Tea Blend created using the helpful tea measuring guide. The "Tummy Soothe Tea" which is a blend of cinnamon chips, fennel seed, chamomile flower and licorice root. I also added in chamomile flower because it was too pretty not to.

The tea only needs to be infused for a couple of minutes before it is ready to be consumed. The session was over so quickly even though it lasted for hours. It was a close, intimate workshop and I feel like my tea knowledge definitely increased after this. What a wonderful tea learning experience!
