Le Monde | Surry HIlls
Le Monde Café is located in the trendy suburb of Surry Hills and is known for their coffee (some of the best coffee in Sydney too!). Le Monde is the perfect location to enjoy a long weekend brunch with loved ones. The cafe is quite intimate and if you don't mind sharing tables with other customers, this is the place for you. Luckily there was a free table up the back. We last dined here and sat in the middle long table which felt like a speed dating session.
Crunchy Potato Rosti
We visited Le Monde previously and absolutely loved their potato rosti. We were excited to return to try it again. This time, instead of bacon, I had the smoked salmon. The roasted cherry tomato, feta, spinach, poached egg was perfectly accompanied by saffron hollandaise & crushed pistachio however, the potato rosti wasn't the same! The recipe changed slightly. We preferred the previous rosti better - it had more of the potato taste rather than flavour.
Fetta Scrambled Egg
Baby
spinach, mushroom & crumbled feta cheese with added bacon. This
would've been a great vegetarian dish if we didn't add the bacon.
Scrambled eggs and bacon is definitely better when someone else makes
them. It was a filling dish with generous serving sizes. We were rolling
out the door!
Vietnamese Iced Coffee
Coming
from a Vietnamese background, the Vietnamese Iced Coffee wasn't the
traditional style but definitely gave you the coffee kick to start the
weekend strong.
