Rashays | Wetherill Park

Having never dined at Rashays before, we had heard mixed reviews about the food. Given the fact that Rashays can be found in various locations across Sydney, the food must have some sort of consistency that continues to appeal to the public. When we visited their store in Wetherill Park, we had a really nice experience. The staff were young, attentive and you could tell that they were all enjoying themselves at work which isn't always the case you would be surprised. We were gifted a voucher to try their limited edition parmilasagne (a cross between parmigiana and lasagna) so we decided to make a feast out of the trip. Keep reading to find out what we thought!

Lychee Crush, Iced Mocha Frappe and Mango Crush
Before we dive into food, we began with a few drinks which came out almost instantly and all drinks are served in a half litre jug (per serving). The menu is like a never ending picture book which was filled with so many tantalizing options. There was easily 50 pages of menu items which makes us question how the chef's are able to keep up with the different types of orders. From pasta, to pizza, to steak and even chicken schnitzel.

Haloumi Bruschetta
The lightly toasted ciabatta bread topped with vine-ripened tomatoes, spanish onions, sweet basil, garlic & olive oil. Considering that this was only an entree serving, the serving size at Rashays is extremely generous. Definitely going for a "more is best" approach and is evident throughout all their dishes. While nothing special, it was a nice subtle starter.

Parmilasagne
This is an ultimate meal for post-work out (when you are wanting to be bad). It's a large chicken schnitzel topped with a whole lasagne and served with chips. It's monstrous but quite gimicky! It's only available for a limited time (and actually ends tonight). We've posted about this on our Instagram so if you haven't had a chance to drop by, tonight is your last chance (but who knows, will they have another bigger & better promotion?). The lasagne tasted very similar to the pre-made lasagne from primary school which brought back loads of memories. It was tasty but tasted like the food was pre-cooked.

Rashays caters for a specific style of food as it takes on a similar ... to American style fast food. The large number of menu items can likely be problematic for the chefs and while not confirmed, it seems almost like many of the menu items were pre-cooked or frozen and heated up. The food didn't' really seem fresh other than the tomatoes on the bruschetta. This is our review of the food and we know some people who do enjoy Rashays quite well as it is a heavily a family friendly establishment.
Try it out for yourselves and let us know your thoughts!
