Pasta Pantry | Bondi Junction

Pasta Pantry is my go to Italian place for a quick lunch in North Sydney. I love their quality, service and consistency in serving their pastas and will eventually try their range of salads. We knew Pasta Pantry had other locations. Located on the level 5 food court in Bondi Junction Westfield, you will see Pasta Pantry near the glass window. The food court boasts harbour views and hence, is called the harbour room. Unlike the store in North Sydney, there's a DIY cooked to order pasta at this location.

Pesto Gnocci with Chorizo
This was Matt's combination. He selected the gnocci with pesto sauce and added chorizo. Usually, gnocci can become moreish after a couple of bites. However, in this instance it was the opposite. The gnocci was soft, fluffy and perfectly balanced with the chorizo and pesto sauce. No additional seasoning was required. This was a great combination and the chorizo was the cherry on top, it would have been bland otherwise because the pockets of potato can be very starchy.

Chilli Prawn Linguini
The linguini with chilli prawn sauce had the opposite effect on our tastebuds. This pasta was quite bland admittedly, and we had to add seasonings to it. The sauce lacked any sort of kick from the chilli and I honestly couldn't taste the lemon juice or zest. We had very high expectations because my favourite store in North Sydney has such bold flavours. You can also add your own flavours i.e. parmesan cheese, cracked pepper and chilli flakes. I did mention at the counter to have extra parmesan cheese but I was disappointed when it barely had a sprinkle on it. Their store in North Sydney packs on the extra parmesan (I actually have to stop them!). Either way, good quality food but I'll stick with my favourite location.
