Doughbox Diner | Brighton Le Sands
Doughbox Diner is located in Brighton Le Sands on Bay street so it's slightly easier for you to find parking - we know how hard parking can be on The Grand Parade. Doughbox Diner began as a simple pizza bar and creperie in 2009 and it's the home of the hand held crepe cone! It's no ordinary crepe cone either (keep scrolling to see why). Doughbox Diner seriously creates a different dining experience, it'll bring you to the classic American Diner vibe. They have an extensive menu which ranges from salads, sides, hotdogs, sandwiches and melts, chicken and waffle, burgers, crepe cones, burger cones, thickshakes, soda floats, hot drinks and a whole range of desserts.
Onion Rings
These crispy battered onion rings are direct from the USA and served with Doughbox Diner's zesty dipping sauce. It's honestly the best onion rings we've ever had. I was looking forward to this so much and it definitely lived up to my expectation. There are some onion rings which have too much batter but this was absolutely perfect.
Thickshakes
Our blogging partner in crime, The Weekend Foodie ordered two thickshakes. Don't they look delicious? We felt a little guilty as we haven't been exercising lately so decided to get soda's instead - they serve our favourite soda from America - Canada Dry.
Southern Fried Chicken Burger
Matt being Matt ordered a burger - this is another reason why we couldn't have ordered a thickshake. It would've been fat overload. The Southern Fried Chicken burger looked incredible but there wasn't enough coleslaw. It was also lacking that kick from the spicy mayo but hey, it's a fried chicken burger so we can't complain.
Doughbox Diner's famous Crepe Cones
We ordered the down under with added pineapple, haloumi bite and the inferno crepe cone. I had the down under which comes with bacon rashers, onion, egg, cheese and fresh tomato - which I don't recall tasting because I was focused on the layer of cheese on the crepe. It was delicious, crispy, amazing, salty, sweet and my tastebuds feel like they've been taken on a rollercoaster! We would highly recommend you visit Doughbox Diner to order their famous crepe cones.
