Charlie & Co Burgers | Westfield Miranda Food Tour

The second stop on our Westfield Miranda tour was Charlie & Co Burgers. They offer a large range of Aussie style burgers, sides (some amazingly huge onion rings) and of course milk shakes and thick shakes to dip your fries in. The owners welcomed us and brought out a selection of photo burgers, to which we will be sampling each variation in a mini, slider version.

The below are the burgers for photos only, unfortunately (or fortunately) because we needed to save our stomachs for the remaining stores, we didn't get to sample each one. Those that we did are at the bottom of this post.

THE LAMB BURGER
Lamb Patty, Fetta Cheese, Garden Leaves, Fresh Tomato and Greek Yoghurt.

TRUE BLUE AUSSIE BURGER
Angus Patty, Smoked Middle Bacon, Free-range Egg, Melted Cheddar Cheese, Fresh Tomato, Beetroot, Pineapple, Caramelised Onions, Garden Leaves, Aioli and BBQ sauce.

DOUBLE CHEESE & BACON BURGER
Angus Patty, Smoked Middle Bacon, Melted Double Cheddar Cheese, Pickled Gherkins, Charlie’s Signature Tomato Sauce and American Mustard.

EL MEXICANO BURGER
Angus Patty, Panko Crumbed Onion Rings, Melted Cheddar Cheese, Jalapenos, BBQ sauce and Smoked Chipotle Chilli Mayonnaise

Classic (Thick) Shake Salted Caramel
It is an old America tradition to enjoy a cold thick shake with your burger and fries, and the first person to dip the fries into their thick shakes was an absolute genius. Here in Australia, this isn't really enforced, and not many burger joints make thick shakes that are even worth buying. The salted caramel thick shake from Charlie and Co's was sweet, but not sickening sweet to the point here you want to vomit. We had in mind to only drink half, but somehow we left with an empty cup. This was really enjoyable, but we still have dreams about that salted caramel thick shake from The Burger Project.

Onion Ring
Some of the biggest onion rings we have seen. These things were huge and some were even double the size of this one. Though, this one was too perfect to pass up the "heavenly" photo op. Not only were they big, but they were super crunchy and extremely oily. Everything you could want your side serving to be.

Our mini sliders
You can see the difference between the sliders and the main serving size burgers immediately. They were made up of the same ingredients though, but were made specially for this event. We tasted the Beef and Chicken variants, both of which were just as enjoyable as the last. The buns are made freshly at Charlie and Co.

Ultimately, both burgers had great flavours which is exactly what you should expect from a burger joint. It has left us wanting more, so we may need to make a trip back to memory lane to order some onion rings, thick shakes and perhaps one or two (yes we are fat) of those burgers to taste the real deal!

Next up on our Westfield Miranda tour, we will be telling you our experience at Charm Kitchen!
