Meat District Co | King Street Wharf

Meat District Co is located on King Street Wharf and delivers an unforgettable dining experience for meat lovers. All meat at Meat District Co are locally sourced, all natural, grass-fed Australian beef. They also have a limited edition crocodile burger but we weren't game enough to try it. You can either dine downstairs or upstairs and either option will give you a great experience. When we dined at Meat District Co earlier this year, we were seated upstairs - it was a very intimate dining experience. This time, we were seated downstairs and it felt quite chilled and laid back.

Sweet Memory & Pisco Sour
We sipped on cocktails to start the dining experience. Most of you know Christie doesn't drink much but she was absolutely in love with the cocktail of the month: Sweet Memory. What I love about drink menus are the ingredients. The Sweet Memory cocktail was made with plum pisco, vodka, sweet strawberiries, fresh lime, basil topped with ginger beer. Matt ordered the Pisco Sour which is a South American jewel; made with Capel Chilean Pisco shaken with lime juice, brown sugar syrup and a dash of egg white.

Crispy Battered Onion Rings
We initially ordered burgers and ribs with chips but the lovely waitress wanted to surprise us with an entree. We had the crispiest onion rings with a lovely truffle sauce. Onion rings are so addictive when done right! We would order this over and over again.

Truffle Fries
Calling all truffle lovers, you would enjoy the truffle fries from Meat District Co. It has truffle salt, truffle parmesan and truffle aioli. The chips are crunchy and flavourful. When you pick up a chip, be sure to tap it once or twice so the truffle parmesan can drop onto other chips. Then dip your chip into the truffle sauce and enjoy the taste in your mouth!

Half Beef Ribs
The sauce on the ribs were the star of the dish for us. It was finger licking good; sweet, salty and the perfect amount of tangy-ness. The ribs were cooked well but it wasn't falling off the bone like some competitors but we would definitely order this again. It was enjoyable and paired well with the truffle parmesan chips and salad.

Brie Burger
Matt ordered the Brie Burger which had a grass fed beef patty with double cream brie, cranberry sauce, radish, mixed greens and horseradish mayo. The burger was quite ordinary and lacked the wow factor for Matt. There was a generous serving of the cranberry sauce and we were expecting a generous chunk of brie but was slightly underwhelmed. There wasn't enough brie to balance the flavour from the cheese and beef patty.
