Georges Mediterranean Bar & Grill | King Street Wharf

Georges Mediterranean Bar and Grill is located on the beautiful King Street Wharf with plenty of outdoor seating options; we enjoyed the afternoon watching the waves and relaxing in their comfortable seats. Georges Mediterranean offers great great Greek food from slow-cooked meat to fresh seafood and plenty of  starter and mezze options. We tried a couple items from the starter and mezze as well as main menu; lamb souvlaki, king prawns, deep fried squid, beef kefta and melitzanosalata.

Lamb Souvlaki
We enjoyed the perfectly cooked and charred lamb souvlaki with pita bread and tzatziki. The size of the skewer wasn't too long which made it easy and mess-free to eat. Simply place the lamb on top of the pita bread, hold it tight, pull the skewer out and there you go! Dip it in the tzatziki and you'll be in heaven.

King Prawns
We saw another table ordering the king prawns wrapped in kataifi pastry and instantly had food envy. We decided to order these gems and it was super crunchy and well cooked. Four king prawns are served on a plate so we didn't need to fight over who had the last piece.

Deep Fried Squid
If you are looking for a deep fried seafood dish coated with plenty of batter then you must order the deep fried squid from Georges Mediterranean. The zucchini fritter is an interesting addition to this dish but it was actually my favourite - I think the zucchini fritter could be served as an individual item on the menu!

Melitzanosalata Eggplant
We wanted a colourful dish and the Melitzanosalata was highly recommended. It's a Greek dip made with eggplant, crushed garlic, grated onion, tomato concasse, spring onion, feta and lemon oil. This was a really refreshing dish and one we've never tried before!
