Meet Mica | Surry Hills

Meet Mica is located in Surry Hills and is one of the best top 20 cafe featured by The Good Food Guide. They serve specialty coffee with unique breakfast and lunch options! I've been wanting to visit Meet Mica for a while now and the wait was totally worth it.

Meet Mica serves LUXE bakery toast and croissants along with a selection of pastries. I had a hard time selecting from the menu! Everything on the menu sounded amazing from the eggs benedict with fried bao to the duck tataki with soba noodles - which by the way is how I found out you can have raw duck! Another item on their menu that caught my attention was the salted-egg yolk tonkatsu bento.

We decided to order the Eggs Benedict on Fried Bao, Matcha French Lava Toast and Lobster Congee! The Eggs Benedict on Fried Bao is served with crispy fried bao, soft poached egg, tempura nori, baby spinach, yuzu hollandaise and miso butter bacon. The lobster congee is served with slow cooked lobster, slow cooked egg, katsuobushi brush, green shallot and ginger. The congee had very little rice and tasted more like a thick soup. The flavour was sensational and perfect for winter but we were blown away with the Matcha Lava Toast. 

The Matcha Lava Toast with matcha milk foam, strawberry dust and seasonal fruit was heavenly. The matcha lava toast had the perfect amount of matcha 'lava' and the toast was crunchy and had a sweet crust. The addition of the condensed milk allowed you to adjust your sweetness level - which meant pour it all in for me.... :)
